About The Sim Paddock

The sim racing market is full of noise. Sponsored content dressed up as reviews. Buying guides that recommend whatever pays the highest commission. YouTube videos that call everything a ten out of ten.

The Sim Paddock exists because serious sim racers deserve better than that.

What we do

We research, test and write about sim racing equipment — motion platforms, racing seats, helmets, cockpits, pedals, wheelbases and everything in between. Every article is written to answer one question honestly: is this worth your money?

We cover the full range of sim racing hardware, from entry-level upgrades to high-ticket motion simulation. When something is genuinely excellent, we say so. When something is overpriced, overhyped or simply not right for most people, we say that too.

No manufacturer pays for coverage on this site. No brand is guaranteed a positive review. No article is written to move stock. That independence is the only thing that makes our recommendations worth reading — and we take it seriously.

Who this is for

The Sim Paddock is written for sim racers who do their research before they spend. People who want to understand what they are actually buying — not just read a spec sheet — before committing to hardware that costs hundreds or thousands of pounds.

Whether you are building your first proper cockpit or upgrading to a full motion platform, this site exists to help you make the right call. Read before you buy.

A note on how we make money

Some articles on The Sim Paddock contain affiliate links. If you click a link and make a purchase, we may earn a small commission at no cost to you. This never influences what we recommend. If a product is not worth buying, we will not recommend it regardless of whether an affiliate relationship exists. Our editorial position is always independent of our commercial relationships.

Editorial Policy

Every product covered on The Sim Paddock is assessed on its merits. We do not accept payment for reviews, guaranteed placements or sponsored editorial content. Where review samples are provided by manufacturers, this is disclosed within the relevant article. Affiliate links are used to support the site but do not determine editorial outcomes.
